WhatsApp Button privacy policy

This policy covers the bKlug WhatsApp Button plugin for WordPress and WooCommerce. The plugin runs entirely on your own site and on the shopper's device. bKlug operates no server for it and receives no data from it.

Last update: 7 July, 2026

Who we are

This plugin ("bKlug WhatsApp Button", the "Plugin") is provided by MENSAGENS ELIPTICAS - LDA. (trading as "bKlug"), a company registered in Portugal, Tax Identification Number PT517467739, with registered address at Rua Sousa Martins, n. 15, 5, 1050-217 Lisbon, Portugal.

For this Plugin, bKlug provides the software only. The Plugin runs on your WordPress site; bKlug does not host any service for it and does not process any data on your behalf.

What the Plugin does

The Plugin lets a WordPress or WooCommerce merchant add a floating WhatsApp button to their storefront. The merchant configures it in the WordPress admin under Settings, WhatsApp Button (phone numbers, prefilled messages, contacts, colors, position), and the Plugin renders the button on the front end via the standard wp_footer hook. Everything runs on the merchant's own site.

Data we collect

From the merchant

None is sent to bKlug. Your settings (phone numbers, prefilled messages, contact names, display settings) are saved in your site's own WordPress database, in a single options row, on your own hosting. They never leave your site and are never transmitted to bKlug.

From storefront visitors (shoppers)

None. The button runs entirely in the shopper's browser. When a shopper taps it, their device opens WhatsApp using a standard WhatsApp link. The Plugin sets no cookies, tracks no visitors, and sends no data to bKlug or any third party.

No external service

The Plugin is self-contained. It makes no calls to bKlug servers, loads no remote scripts, and depends on no third-party service to work. There is no account to create and no data leaves your site.

Sub-processors

None. Because the Plugin runs entirely on your own site and calls no external service, bKlug engages no sub-processors for it.

Data retention

Your settings remain in your WordPress database for as long as the Plugin is installed. Deleting the Plugin removes them: the Plugin's uninstall routine deletes the stored option.

Data subject rights

Because bKlug holds no data from this Plugin, there is nothing for bKlug to access, correct, or delete. Any data related to the button (the numbers and messages you configure) lives only in your own WordPress site, under your control.

Storefront visitors: because the Plugin collects no visitor personal data, there is no visitor data to access, correct, or delete.

Security

Your settings are stored in your own WordPress database and are protected by your site's own security. The Plugin adds no remote endpoints and transmits nothing off your site.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Plugin changes. The "Last update" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated through the plugin listing.
